Portland Group Fortran
Downloaded and installed PGI Workstation 6.2 to /opt/pgi. Things seem to be much much smoother; I was able rebuild everything up to jproc without errors. Out of time now so I'll have to cary on later.

Have you seen this about the netcdf compilation error? http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/netcdf/docs/known_symptoms.html#NF_INT_IS_C
I did what they said but am still running into the error with make. netcdf-3.6.1 compiled fine at one point.
Yes, I was able to get around this problem. ifort doesn't correctly report its datatypes so you have to manually edit the fortran/nfconfig.in file.
